High fashion from Lima Peru and climb to the catwalk in Cusco

Cusco (Peru) .- The latest in haute couture Peruvian proposals are not presented in Lima, but in an unprecedented gateway erected in the Temple of the Sun in the city of Cusco, where local ingredients alternative designs have been the protagonists.
The Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), a major Inca shrines, which lent its facilities for 24 models showing the Peruvian designer collections Meche Correa, Norma Peña, Titi Giulfo, Amaro Casanova, Jessica Butrich, Fatima Arrieta, Roger Loaiza and Castro Gleny at this festival called "Cusco always in fashion".
The remains of Incan religious architecture with living in that place, now home of the Convent of Santo Domingo were the ideal backdrop for the couture dresses.
The designer Meche Correa told Efe that his collection was inspired "in skirts (Andean foothills games) and their volumes."
In the Peruvian Andes "women wear skirts on skirts, sometimes up to 25 skirts in times of celebration, and I feel that the volumes are so feminine, because then gird your waist and it seems very nice," said the creator .
Correa also showed dresses with intricate embroidery of flowers and wearing hats inspired by the Andes.
Another designer, Gleny Castro, Cusco brought a collection presented in the parade Pret-a-porter Paris, 2008, worked in wool handmade alpaca (called noble version) embroidered by artisans in the city of Huancayo opaque sequins, wool and stone.
Castro told EFE that his clothes are inspired by the pottery of Chulucanas (on the north coast of Peru) and the old carved frames of the Cusco School of painting.
Prior to the catwalk today, three fashion designers presented their proposals in an urban, last Wednesday, in a hall built in the market of San Pedro, which was headed by the author of "Cusco always in fashion", Cusco artist Andrés Zúñiga.
Born into a family of artists in the neighborhood of San Blas, Zuniga thought two years ago to give place to all cultural events in their city neglected that could make the capital of the Incas a different destination.
Speaking to EFE, Zuniga said that the collection he designed for the event starts his work with the seamstresses in the market of San Pedro, a former supply center of the city.
The designer dresses in silk presented tilled, rich color, with voluminous skirts, pleated skirts as the Andean women, belted under the bust, and white high top hats.
Zuniga said he could only repay with "love" to the flavors and sensations you experience every time you go to Cuzco active market.

The host of the event said that the intention of the gateway is to be a showcase, especially for young artists who have proposed innovative but do not have the resources to prepare and present a collection.

One of those young talents is the designer Elfer Castro, who was sponsored by the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade of Cusco for a collection in association with the inhabitants of the province of Canchis.

Moon made a collection of dresses and coats in alpaca wool, silk, paperback, velvet and corduroy, who took the embroidered flowers typical of the Cuzco in long skirts, hats, belts and round and flat.

The idea of "always in fashion Cusco" is to make it a show to be repeated annually, with support from companies and public institutions, with the current design events in Peru.

Castro used tin skirts made by blacksmiths peasants with multicolored embroidery applications, wide belts made in traditional Andean weaving, and armed with pills blouses of wool fabrics with multiple applications in the form of spheres and flowers.

Another designer who worked with the artisans of the region was Elizabeth Moon, with experience in the Paris catwalks, which drew inspiration from the weavers of the province Ocongate.
